Interest and Future Goals.

Brief statement about your career:
I am currently following a dedicated program of mechanical engineering and computer science, with a concentration in studio art, at my current school. I intend to graduate a semester early from this program and begin full-time graduate work immediately afterwards, hopefully to have my Master’s completed within five years of entering college. At that point, I plan to begin working full-time with an engineering or manufacturing firm, preferably in the Birmingham area.

My overarching intent is to pursue a field that will merge my two dominant passions of creative design and mechanical problem solving, while concurrently enabling me to make meaningful contributions to the sciences. I am greatly interested in conducting professional research in my chosen fields, in developing innovative materials and methods of machine design, and designing more efficient, computer-controlled methods of large-scale fabrication. I hope eventually to earn a PhD in mechanical engineering, so that I will be better prepared to pursue each of my ideals and make a lasting mark on the state of modern science.
